San Mateo Event Center

Covering most of The Peninsula, San Mateo County is at the crossroad of the San Francisco Bay Area main regions and is bordered by San Francisco and the Silicon Valley.

The San Mateo Event Center is a strategic place for Japan Expo as it serves all of the major population centers in the Bay Area: 30 minutes from San Francisco, East Bay, and South Bay.

The San Mateo Event Center has great facilities adapted to what Japan Expo wants to offer: a unique indoor and outdoor setting.

Indoor vendors, contents areas and conferences stage as well as an outdoor main stage, resting and food areas, among other features, will ensure a unique matsuri feeling to the attendees: an atmosphere you won’t be able to find anywhere else!

Transportation

Located between 280 and 101, the San Mateo Event Center is a central point in the bay area, and there are plenty of ways to get there.

Need to take public transit? No problem!

  • East bay attendees, north bay attendees, and people flying in can take BART and Caltrain to the event center.
  • San Francisco attendees and south bay attendees can take Caltrain to the event center.
  • San Francisco attendees take either BART to Millbrae and take Caltrain, or take Muni to any of the San Francisco Caltrain stations.
  • The closest Caltrain stations are Hayward Park and Hillsdale.

But you're driving?  It's easy!  Both 280 and 101 connect to 92, which can bring you right to the event center.
