PANELS & MEETINGS

Japan Expo has many prestigious guests coming to meet their fans during autograph sessions and to talk about their work, their careers, or their jobs during masterclasses and panels. Those guests are mangaka, anime directors, chara-designers, illustrators, video game creators, producers, musicians, singers, composers and even talented cosplayers. Don’t miss the chance of meeting famous artists and of getting to know more about them.

CONCERTS

Among the artists mentioned above, there are many bands and musicians performing on stage. All types of music are welcome to show the various styles and sounds coming from Japan! Newcomers and experienced artists alike play as many styles as J-rock, RnB, J-pop, hard rock, electro… and also video game or anime music. And as music has been part of Japanese culture since ancient times, traditional artists come play shamisen, koto, sanshin and more, as many enchanting instruments used in traditional music.

WORKSHOPS

Japan Expo is also the place to learn about Japanese culture and try new activities! Many workshops and initiation classes are organized to unveil to you the secrets of martial arts, figurine modeling, armor making, or many traditional activities such as ikebana, tea ceremony, traditional games, calligraphy, and more.

COSPLAY

For those who don’t know about cosplay, let’s say that it’s among the most impressive shows you could attend! Cosplayers get on stage in the most breathtaking costumes, hand-made costumes from their favorite manga, anime or video games, to show outstanding choreographies and performances. The alleys of Japan Expo, its cosplay stage and most of all the masquerades on the main stage are unique opportunities to see your favorite manga, anime and video game characters come to life

VIDEO GAMES

Video games are an important aspect of Japanese pop culture and of Japan Expo as well. Publishers, guests and various participants are part of it. You can come play video games on booths, try the latest releases or defy other attendees during tournaments. Video game creators, artists or producers also come to let you know more about their jobs and the video game industry.

TRADITIONAL CULTURE

Japanese culture is fascinating in many ways, and traditions are definitely among its most attractive aspects. As such, it is under the spotlight at Japan Expo. A dedicated stage is set up to let artists perform the most beautiful music, dance and theatre shows. As mentioned above, workshops, as well as demonstrations and exhibits, present various arts and crafts such as ikebana or calligraphy, painting and more.

FASHION

Tokyo is yet another fashion capital, teeming with the most creative, extravagant, unique, and avant-garde styles! Tomorrow’s trends may be coming from the streets of Tokyo and they are at Japan Expo right now. If you want to have a look at the latest lolita or kawaii creations from Japan, then you must attend the fashion shows featured on the main stage and make some shopping among the fashion designers's booths exhibiting their creations. Fashion addicts probably won’t be able to resist and get a few pieces for their wardrobes.
