Sanrio Theme Parks' Thanks Party

Posted on

On December 5, 2014 as part of the “2014 Sanrio Thanks Party” everyone will have free admission into their theme parks; Sanrio Puroland and Harmonyland. Many special events will be happening such as the first 1000 people will get a cute Hello Kitty tote bag. Every 30 minutes there will be a few Sanrio character in the park as well auctions and giveaways. So if you’re in Japan and have some time you should visit!

Sanrio Puroland is in Tama New Town, Tokyo, Japan and it opened in December 7, 1990. The theme park has musicals, restaurants, attractions, and theme rides with the characters. Some of the features of the theme park that attract visitors from overseas are the gift shop and the fireworks display during the summer as well as a wonderfully entertaining boat ride. You can also visit Hello Kitty’s house and see all the cute Hello Kitty shaped appliances! Their newest attraction Sanrio Town opened around July 2013 and includes 4 attractions for Little Twin Stars and My Melody fans.

Harmonyland is located in Hiji-machi, Hayami-gun, Oita, Kyushu, Japan. One of the most anticipated attraction there is the Hello Kitty castle as well as the Rhythmic Coaster and the ferris wheel “Wonder Panorama”. The ferris wheel is worth mentioning because of its rainbow colored wheel that is so colorful from the outside and the inside of the ride. At the park there are four great dining options as well as a fast food restaurant and shopping.

Harmonyland and Puroland are both very similar but Puroland has more performances either way both theme parks are worth visiting if you love Sanrio characters!

Hopefully we will be able to see the new Sanrio mascot Gudetama, the lazy egg, as a mascot in the parks soon!
